You want to lose weight, you want to eat healthy, you have a plan, but it is just not happening and you are not sure you can. It seems that every time you start a new plan that you sabotage yourself and get in your own way.
You have failed at so many weight loss programs before and in fact you are heavier than you have ever been. Why is this new program going to be any different?
Maybe you are just going to stay like this forever.
This belief is certainly going to affect your weight loss journey (and this applies equally to success in your business or any other area)
Louise Hay, in her book You Can heal Your Life says, “The only thing we are ever dealing with is a thought, and a thought can be changed”
Our thoughts have been programed from our early life and experiences that we have had. So, it could be someone telling you that you were fat when you were a child, a boyfriend dropping you when you were a teenager and you felt it was because of your size, or the constant failures you have experienced trying to lose weight with dieting. These experiences have shaped your thought and beliefs about yourself.
Then you start telling yourself these stories. “No matter what I do I will never be able to lose weight. I’m a failure – this diet promised that I could lose 10kg in 10 days and I haven’t been able to stick to it”. “I’m hopeless, I’m fat, I’m disgusting, nothing I do will work”
Imagine talking to anyone like this?
Yet we do it to ourselves all the time. How on earth are you going to achieve weight loss, or success in any other area when we talk to ourselves like this.
Our thoughts become our words, and they become our actions.
We start acting like we will never achieve our goals.
We eat foods that we know do not make us feel good. We stop exercising because what is the point? Nothing we do is helping us to lose weight anyway.
These beliefs and words have now become our actions and our habits.
We eat a second helping of food, because, oh well a bit more won’t matter. We quit doing exercise because it is too hard, and it is cold and it doesn’t feel like it is making a difference. We buy take away foods that we know are not healthy, but it is easier than cooking. And we have started down the path of unhealthy habits.
This now becomes who we are. We eat too much, and drink too much, we don’t like exercise and getting hot and sweaty, and we would rather enjoy our chips and chocolate.
This is now our character and leading us towards our destiny.
Of course, the opposite is equally true.
Let’s change our thoughts to say that we are a fit and healthy person, we love to eat healthy, we love to move our body, we love to be successful. We start talking about ourselves like this. We see ourselves as someone who is successful in all areas of their life. We believe that we can be successful in our business, in our personal life, with our relationships and with our health. We start talking about ourselves like this. We write it down, we set goals. We visualize what this life will look like.
Your actions start matching these thoughts. You find the foods that work best for your body and find ways to cook them and enjoy them. You reject food that you know does not work for you – it no longer interests you. You move your body every day because it feels good. You enjoy the feeling and it is no longer hard work, but fun. And you love how your body feels when it is healthier and stronger and more flexible. You enjoy doing videos and Facebook lives in your business because you feel so good about yourself. You know that your energy is showing through and you can get your message out. You are loving yourself, your business and your life. You now have more energy to do all that you want to do.
You character is now one full of energy, life and purpose. You are now set to achieve your destiny. To be the person you were meant to be.
So, which person do you want to be?
What are you going to do about it?
It all starts with the beliefs and thoughts.
And the quickest way I know of changing your beliefs is tapping into your subconscious brain and reprogramming the messages it has received. To redo the stories that might have started in early childhood, or maybe with the 10th failed diet.
By tapping into the sub conscious we can change the stories, thereby changing the beliefs and thoughts and allowing our amazing selves to shine through.
EFT – tapping is the way to access our subconscious brain, and reprogram those old beliefs and thoughts. The first one to start with is the belief that it is possible to change, otherwise nothing you do will work.
