Tapping Q and A: Why do we say the negative?

One of the common questions I get asked is why do we say the negative and it is it’s a really interesting and very different than pretty well everything else we learn about in the self-development filled with so taught so much now about let’s say the positive.

So let’s say affirmations and you know I am rich, I’m happy, I’ve got a fantastic relationship, and these are affirmations in tapping we tell the truth so it’s not so much as the negative.

It’s actually how we feeling. “I’m angry, I’m sad, I’m fed up, I’ve had enough of them” So it’s not that we want to stay there or dwell in those negative feelings but we actually say it how it is so. “I’m really angry at my husband, I’m really fed up with the kids, I’m feeling so tired these aches and pains all over my body.”

This is how you actually feeling and some people find that just stating those things out loud can actually give them amazing relief because we’re so used to putting these thoughts and feelings down. We keep pushing them down.

“I shouldn’t feel like that my children are adorable, I should really look up to them, I shouldn’t talk so negative about them”

And so we push those feelings down and that’s where we do things like over eat, drink too much, you know watch too much TV.

All of these are different things we try to do to keep those feelings down.

In tapping, we’re going to do the opposite. We’re going to let them out because that’s how you actually heal them.

We’ve got to let them out where they’ve got to have their day in the Sun. So as we talk, “I am fed up, I’m angry, I’ve had enough
this is, I’m so annoyed..” and really feel it.

That’s where tapping scripts often don’t work because they’re not your words.

So the real power in tapping comes because they’re your words. Say what you really, really feel.

So if you are swearing type person then swear.

If you’re not a swearing obviously that’s not you. So say what you really feel and really feel the emotion and feel it well up. And
like my shoulders are so tense, I’ve got this headache, it’s this the burning headache and express how you feel.

And that’s where the real power in tapping comes.
