How Do You Really Feel About Money?

“Money Money Money”
I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain’t it sad
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That’s too bad
In my dreams I have a plan
If I got me a wealthy man
I wouldn’t have to work at all, I’d fool around and have a ball…

Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man’s world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man’s world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It’s a rich man’s world

How do you really feel about MoneyI love Abba and their songs.  The musical harmonies were fantastic and the energy and enthusiasm they had for singing.  But this song’s words send a very poor message.  How many young women feel that if that could just find themselves a rich man then all would be well in their world?  I like to think this is part of the “olden days”, but some times when I talk with the young adults I get very concerned.

There is all the talk about how hard it is to get a good job, how impossible it is for the younger generation to buy a house, how the economy is so bad.  At the same time, they are talking on the latest iPhone, driving a fairly new car, and wearing designer shoes.  I am really not sure where their financial education is.

Robert Kiyosaki (property guru) made a similar comment when he was first starting out.  He had bought an apartment block to rent out.  Parts of his business were not going so well and he was financially struggling.  But when he collected the rents from the tenants, they commented on how rich he must be to own the units.  His comments were that they must be richer than him because he couldn’t afford to pay TV and all his tenants had it.

Interesting!

Becoming wealthy is actually very easy.

Make some Money.

Keep some money.

Invest the money.

How do you feel about money?

Do you feel this is something that you can achieve, without the need to resort to marrying a rich man?

If you would like to see how you feel about money lets do this little exercise:

Write down your current income – the actual amount you make in your business right now per month.  (Do an average of the last 6 months, just of the income source you want to expand)

Write down this amount in big red letters on a piece of paper.

Focus on the number you wrote down and say out loud:
“I am earning __________ per month”

Now look at the number again and say:
“It is not enough!”

Take some deep breaths and allow yourself to feel what happens in your body when you say that.

How true does this statement feel to you? Does it create an intense feeling in your body?

Write down those feelings and measure them on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being all is good and 10 being I am seriously stressed.

Often the statement “It’s not enough” feels very true.
Are you trying to earn more and feeling frustrated?  Feeling that you will never be able to make enough.  Feelings of anxiety, sadness, maybe even shame or anger come up.

Your income is usually the largest stream of money coming into your life, so how you feel about it really matters.  While you try to bury your feelings and pretend that everything is ok, the stress and tension is affecting you. It will actually affect how easily you bring more money into your life.

If you feel that earning money is hard work, and you need to be stressed, then you will manifest this in your life.  If you feel having lots of money is greedy, or makes you less of a caring person, then you will make sure that you do not have a high income.

On the other hand, if you feel that having lots of money is really good, and you love the idea, then money will want to come.

So if your future plan is not to marry a rich man, then it is important to work on what is the plan, and eliminate all negative feelings so you can have the life of your dreams.
