Yesterday, during my webinar, I had the wonderful opportunity to talk with a group of entrepreneurs who all want to increase their income, and we talked about how using EFT can make a huge difference.

We talked about our perception of ‘rich’ people and what we heard as ‘truths’ when we were growing up.  See if any of these are things that you heard growing up.

Did you hear someone talk about someone else and say, “Look at those people, Just because they have done well for themselves, now they are now snobs”, and “They are now too big for their boots”

Or have you heard the saying “money is the root of all evil”?

“Rich people are greedy and not nice”

Why would you want to be rich?  It sounds like you are going to be a snob, look down on others, not care about anyone but yourself, and be willing to climb over your dead grandmother to make more money.  No one wants to be like that.

So, if you stay where you are, and play it small, making just enough to get by on, then no one is going to say this about you.  You can be poor and happy, and a nice person to be around.  Deal!?

No?  Well, I believe there is a third choice.

How about you are rich and happy.  Friendly and caring.  Donate reasonably large sums of money to issues that matter to you – refugees, domestic violence, children hospital and the school can all benefit from the fact you are rich.  You care about your family and have wonderful holidays together, you have fun times with your friends, and you can live a comfortable lifestyle.

We need to find new role models.  Not the rat bags we read about that are rich and horrible in the news.  There are the rich that are charitable, have fantastic marriages and care for their kids.  They do exist, they just do not make headlines in the newspapers.  You can be one of these.

Your choice.

To make this choice, think about your feelings when you hear someone talking about “the rich person”.   What are you subconsciously saying?  “Rich people are __________”

Time for some tapping to get rid of those beliefs.  Think about when you heard or saw that behaviour.  It will probably be thoughts from your childhood, and from your carers.  Tap on every negative thought you have about being rich, and then you are free to set your goals of where you want to be.

A million dollar business anyone?
